Itinerary
Itinerary No. 4 - Lungo Tagliamento
Lignano Sabbiadoro
The itinerary begins at the docking point of the "Passo Barca/X-River" (2024 schedule) in Lignano Riviera and unfolds along the Tagliamento River, where the scents of maritime pines blend with the aromas of the undergrowth.
Immersed in nature, as we follow Viale Tagliamento, we can make a stop at the Punta Verde Zoo Park in Lignano before heading toward Bevazzana. This zoological garden, offering excitement for both young and old, spans 100,000 square meters between the two banks of the Tagliamento River and is home to approximately 1,000 animals from hundreds of species, including mammals, birds, and reptiles.
Returning to the cycling and walking path, away from roads and traffic, we pass by the Lignano Golf Club, one of the most scenic golf courses in Northern Italy. From here, we can peacefully reach the Bevazzana locks, where the Bevazzana Swing Bridge stands. Built in 1922, closed for a long period, and reopened in 2014, it provides an important tourist service. Operated by an automated opening and closing mechanism, the bridge serves as a connection within the cycling and walking route while also allowing boats to pass.
At this point, we can choose various directions: either continue inland or return toward Lignano, selecting the route based on the preferred level of difficulty.
