The Power of Connections, 1976: Voices from the Land

Fifty years after the earthquake that devastated the region in May 1976, Friuli, 1976: Voices from the Land combines music and words to pay tribute to the victims and remember the strength with which the people of Friuli managed to rise again. The project by the Livenza Wind Orchestra brings together pieces of music and texts, many of them original and specially composed for the occasion, in a narrative exploring the relationship between people and nature, community life and the hope that emerged from tragedy. Music and words retrace those days and the subsequent reconstruction, bringing back to the present one of the events that left the deepest mark on the recent history of Friuli.

Simone Colombari and Max Paiella take the audience into the world of Enzo Jannacci, intertwining his songs with the encounters that shaped his artistic journey. From his early songs to his most popular hits, the story also features figures such as Giorgio Gaber, Dario Fo, Cochi and Renato, Paolo Conte and Beppe Viola. Accompanied by a live band, Simone Colombari and Max Paiella portray an artist capable of observing Italy from the perspective of the underprivileged and ordinary people. Jannacci and Beyond thus alternates words and music, following the different stages of Jannacci’s career and the artistic world that gathered around his songs.
