Pupi & Pini: Puss in Boots
Lignano Sabbiadoro
8/17/2026
“Pupi & Pini,” the street and puppet theater festival, returns in 2026. All shows are aimed at a family audience. The underlying theme of the festival is the close connection between children's literature and live performance, featuring many artists who stand out for their professionalism and skill in the scenic arts, ranging from oral tradition fairy tales to novels, and from classical literature fairy tales to contemporary texts.
On Monday, August 17 at 9:00 PM at Hemingway Park in Lignano Pineta, “Puss in Boots” will take place, a street and puppet theater show presented by Bottega Buffa CircoVacanti. At the edge of the dark forest lurks a cold and hungry farm boy. His father has just died and left him an inheritance... a cat.
– A cat? Is he crazy? What on earth am I going to do with a cat?
– But that cat talks, and it's no ordinary cat. In fact, the very first thing it asks Costantino is to gift it his boots.
– Boots? To a cat? Are you crazy?
– But the boy Costantino, perhaps understanding or perhaps not, obliges by giving him the boots, thereby putting his fortune right into the cat's paws (and he won't regret it).
Admission is free.
Festival organized by the Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro in collaboration with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and the Lignano Sabbiadoro Library. Artistic direction by Ortoteatro SocietĂ Cooperativa Pordenone.
