One has a moustache, the other doesn’t; one stutters, the other doesn’t and speaks smoothly.
One believes that custard is delicate, wonderful and blonde like a woman; the other knows poetry, poets, their verses, and recites them like someone who has no other way of speaking.
One is convinced that cream puffs are fragile and helpless living beings; the other believes that cream puffs must be sold, otherwise you can’t make a living.
The pastry workshop is their home. A world frozen at four in the morning, their world: melted chocolate, puff pastry light as a feather, sponge cake, meringues like snow, Arabic fritters, Russian cake, almond biscuits and Bavarian cream: everything moves, flies, dances, and the night sneaks in everywhere.
Two twin brothers who, like Cyrano and Christian, wait for their Roxane — and where else would you wait for her if not in a pastry shop?
