On holiday with Attilio
Lignano Sabbiadoro
7/28/2026
The interactive exhibition titled "On holiday with Attilio" was conceived and curated by Alessandra Cassinelli, daughter of the famous illustrator, and designed in collaboration with the Municipal Library of Lignano Sabbiadoro. It is a journey into Attilio's lively and colorful world: large images and child-sized cutouts transform the spaces into a big, open, and playful book in which to experience his stories.
A project designed primarily for children, but open to visitors of all ages and backgrounds. Particular emphasis is given to elements of nature: the sea, the woods, the meadow, and various animals, represented with sharp fields of brilliant colors, addressing everyone and renewing the invitation to love and protect them. Attention to the natural environment, care for trees, respect for the earth and water have always been essential values for Attilio.
And then there are several characters, drawn from the traditional repertoire of fairy tales as well as children's classics. Among these, an important part is dedicated to Pinocchio, one of his most beloved characters, on the bicentenary of Carlo Collodi's birth.
The exhibition receives support from the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
OPENING HOURS
Monday to Friday 2:30 PM - 10:00 PM, Thursday also 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM, excluding holidays.
From September 7, opening hours until 7:00 PM.
