Lignano Noir. Jacopo De Michelis
Lignano Sabbiadoro
7/11/2025
Join writer Jacopo De Michelis for a discussion about his latest novel — a fast-paced, atmospheric thriller.
The story unfolds in a small fishing village nestled on the calm waters of Lake Iseo. After twelve years away, Pietro Rota returns, leaving behind his ambition of becoming a renowned journalist, now reduced to writing for a sensationalist crime magazine. A murder will force him back to Montisola, drawn by a desperate call for help from his father, Nevio Rota...
Jacopo De Michelis was born in Milan in 1968 and now lives in Venice, where he works as an editor at Marsilio Editori. He has also worked as a translator, anthology editor, publishing consultant, and taught narratology at NABA in Milan. A photography enthusiast, he shares his work on Instagram as @geidiemme.
His debut novel La stazione (The Station) was published by Giunti in 2022 to critical acclaim.
The event is organized by the Public Library of Lignano Sabbiadoro as part of the Lignano Noir Festival 2025, supported by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.
The festival pays tribute to Giorgio Scerbanenco, a master of Italian crime fiction. Having discovered Lignano in the 1960s as a tourist, he was captivated by the changing colors of the sea, the pine forest, and the city's modern spirit — and eventually chose it as his place of residence and inspiration for many of his novels.
Festival partners: Messaggero Veneto, Il Giallo Mondadori, Lignano Sabbiadoro Gestioni, Consorzio Lignano Holiday.
