Event
Festa delle Cape 2026
Lignano Sabbiadoro
3/7/2026
The most anticipated early-season event in Lignano Sabbiadoro is the “Festa delle Cape” (Clam Festival).
The event began in 1984 as an idea by a group of professional fishermen and has since been carried on by the A.P.S. “Al Mare” Association of Lignano Sabbiadoro.
The 2026 edition will take place in Piazza Marcello d’Olivo, Lignano Pineta, during lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday, March 7–8 and 14–15, from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The goal of the event – now a true Lignano tradition – is to promote the seafood of the Adriatic Sea among residents and tourists (who are increasingly numerous during the festival days), and above all to donate all proceeds to charity.
Over the years, many institutions and associations have received donations; recent beneficiaries include Una Mano per Vivere, Ass. Trapiantati Fegato FVG, Caritas Lignano Sabbiadoro, the Parish of Lignano, Multiple Sclerosis Association, LILT, Anvolt, Dynamo Camp, Ass. Luca Onlus, and other local organizations.
The menu includes traditional dishes such as cappe lunghe (razor clams), pevarasse (clams), grilled sardines, breaded sardines, sarde in saor, calamari, and other local specialties.
HOW IT WORKS
At the entrance gazebo, you will find a ticket dispenser.
Each visitor must take a ticket and wait for their number to be called at the cash desk while filling out the
menu form (available at the same gazebo) with the desired dishes and drinks.
When your number is called, present your order at the cash desk, pay, and receive a new number, which will later be called by the kitchen stand when your order is ready.
Due to the large number of visitors, long queues and waiting times are expected, so it is advisable to arrive in advance. The ticket dispenser is activated about 15 minutes before the cash desks open.
RULES
1. PRE-NUMBER
At
10:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on each open day, there will be a meeting point at the entrance where you can collect the pre-number and the menu form.
Note: Pre-number distribution will close once the event reaches full capacity. Without a pre-number, access to the kitchen will not be possible.
2. CASH DESK
The cash desk opens at
11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.. When your pre-number appears on the screen, you may place your order.
You will receive a
summary receipt, a ticket for each item, and a kitchen number.
Tip: To save time, decide what to order and mark it on your menu form in advance.
3. KITCHEN
The kitchen opens at
11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.. When your number appears on the screen, hand over your kitchen number, summary ticket, and all product tickets except those for the bar and the clam stand.
This system ensures that queues move smoothly both at the cash desk and in the kitchen.
4. BAR
Drinks can be collected directly from the
bar kiosk.
5. CLAMS
Clam dishes can be collected directly from the
clam kiosk.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Festa delle Cape organizers reserve the right to suspend orders if demand exceeds the kitchen’s capacity. For this reason, the ticket dispenser may be removed before the official closing time of the cash desks and kitchen.
If, after processing all existing orders, the cash desk and kitchen remain operational, new orders may be placed simply by joining the queue.
